CAN I GET MY PACKING MATERIALS DELIVERED TOMORROW?
Yes, we offer next day delivery of our cardboard boxes and other packing materials. Just make sure that you place your order by 3pm on the working day before you need them, and they’ll be with you in a flash!
HOW SHOULD I LABEL MY BOXES AND ITEMS?
When you book your collection, unique labels are generated and attached to your boxes so that we know which items are yours!
CAN I USE MY OWN BOXES?
In order to ensure that your belongings remain safe and secure in transit and whilst in storage we only collect and store BoxSmart boxes. Our boxes are super strong and the optimum dimensions for transport and storage.
WHAT KIND OF BOXES AND PACKING MATERIALS CAN YOU PROVIDE?
All of the packing materials we provide are of excellent quality for storage and transportation. Our cardboard boxes are made of double-walled corrugated cardboard for extra strength.
IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN’T STORE?
We will store just about anything. For safety and insurance reasons we can’t accept the following;
- Food, perishable goods including sauces (e.g. Soy Sauce and Ketchup);
- Antiques (breakable and fragile);
- Birds, fish, animals or any other living creature;
- Explosives, weapons or ammunition;
- Any item which emits fumes, smell or odour;
- Any illegal substances or goods illegally obtained;
- Combustible or flammable materials, liquids or compressed gases, including but not limited to: paint, diesel, petrol, oil, gas, alcohol, artificial fertiliser or cleaning solvents;
- Chemicals, radioactive materials, biological agents;
- Toxic waste, asbestos or other materials of a dangerous nature;
- Any other toxic, flammable or hazardous substance or preparations, classified as such under applicable law;
IS THERE A WEIGHT LIMIT FOR MY BOXES OR ITEMS?
In order to make sure that your things won’t ever get damaged ‐ and out of concern for the backs of the collection and delivery guys and gals ‐ we ask that boxes don’t exceed our maximum weight limit of 25kg, which is the same weight as the checked baggage allowance at most major airlines.
HOW MUCH DOES YOUR STORAGE COST?
Our storage is both cheap and convenient. That’s because we charge by-the-box, meaning you only pay for what you store – unlike traditional self-storage.
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY STORAGE?
We accept Visa, Mastercard and Maestro.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HAVE MY BOXES SENT BACK?
In our standard service, we can deliver your boxes back to you anywhere in Ireland Monday to Friday – it’s just €9 for the first box and only €3 for each additional box in the same delivery. Timeslots and Saturday deliveries are also available at an additional cost.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I ASK FOR MY BOXES TO BE RETURNED HALFWAY THROUGH A MONTH?
You can ask for your boxes back at any time during the month, but a full month’s storage will be payable for partial months. For example, as payment for your storage is taken monthly and in advance, if you request your boxes back after your monthly payment date, there will be no refund for the remainder of that month.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST IF I NEED YOU TO SEND ME PACKING MATERIALS?
Delivery of BoxSmart boxes and packing materials on our standard service before €9. Timeslots and Saturday deliveries are available at an extra cost. Our standard boxes cost €2.50 each and packing tape is €2.50 per roll and we can deliver to anywhere in Ireland.
DO YOU OFFER BUSINESS STORAGE TOO?
Absolutely. Businesses use us for a range of storage services – including archiving, logistics, stock storage, office moves and office decluttering. We offer a service that is more flexible than our competitors and with lower, more transparent pricing. For businesses with greater storage needs, we also provide bulk storage discounts that enable us to compete on price against all mainstream storage businesses, no matter how much you’re storing.
WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON REFUNDS OF MATERIALS?
If you order packing materials from BoxSmart that you don’t end up using, just give them back to the BoxSmart driver on your collection day and we’ll be happy to credit your account with up to €2.95 per order.
DO YOU COLLECT ON WEEKENDS?
Collections can be arranged on Saturdays at an additional cost. Please give us a call and we’ll do our very best to meet your requirements.
CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO MY COLLECTION ORDER?
Yes, of course. If you want to change the number of boxes you’re storing or let us know any specific collection instructions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call us at (021) 4191298 by 3pm the day before your collection. If your collection is on a Monday, then get in touch by 3pm the Friday before.
WHEN CAN YOU COLLECT MY BOXES?
On our standard service the driver will be with you any time between 7.00am and 6.00pm on the date you request. For most Irish postcodes we’ll send you a confirmation email the day before collection, which will either include your 1-hour ETA (estimated time of arrival), or information on how this will be provided to you.To ensure we can successfully collect your boxes on the best day for you, please ensure you (or someone you trust) are available for the duration of your collection window. The cut-off time for next-day collections is 3pm the working day before. (For Monday collections, please book before 3pm the Friday before!)
WHERE CAN YOU COLLECT MY BOXES FROM?
We can collect your boxes from any Irish address; be it your home address, a business address or your student accommodation. To ensure a successful collection first time, do make sure you enter your full address and if possible an accurate postcode for where your boxes are. It can also really help if you tell us that your home is in a gated complex and the driver will need to ring your buzzer for access, or if you’re leaving your things with a concierge, or in reception. Our standard collection includes pick-up from the ground floor.
WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW HOW MUCH I WANT TO STORE?
No problem, just take your best guess – you can add and remove items as much as you like up to 3pm the working day before your collection. If you do send in a different number of items than you have selected in your order, please give us a call on (021) 4191297 or email us at email@example.com so that we can update your account (including any refunds or charges due).
WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW HOW LONG I WANT TO STORE FOR?
If you’re not sure how long you need to store for, no problem, Our service is “Pay-As-You-Store”, so you’ll only ever pay for the storage time and space you use.
WILL THE DRIVER CALL WHEN THEY ARE OUTSIDE?
Unfortunately we can’t guarantee that you’ll get a call from the driver, so we always try and make sure that we get as much detail as we can to make sure there aren’t any problems that would necessitate a call. To make everything run as smoothly as possible, please tell us any special delivery instructions when you place your order. WILL THERE BE A CHARGE IF MY COLLECTION CANNOT BE MADE?
If our driver or delivery partner is unable to collect your items due to insufficient address information or an incorrect postcode, or if you are not at home or not ready when the driver arrives, there will be a charge of €10 to rearrange your collection. So that your collection will be successful first time, please make sure you’ve entered your address accurately. Do also let us know any special delivery instructions, such as if you’d like us to pick up your boxes from a particular location, such as a garage, or if you’ve pre-arranged with a reception area to leave your boxes there.
HOW DO I GET MY BOXES RETURNED TO ME?
Returning your boxes to you is simple! All you need to do is give us a call, tell us which boxes you’d like delivered, when you’d like them delivered and where you’d like them delivered and we can have them with you as soon as tomorrow.

CAN I HAVE MY BOXES RETURNED TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS?
Yes. If you’re on the move, that’s not a problem at all. We’ll deliver your boxes to the ground floor of any address you like within Ireland, be it your home address, a business address or student accommodation. There are only some locations we can’t arrange delivery to, such as airports and train stations. All we need is a residential or commercial address.
WHAT IF I ONLY WANT ONE BOX BACK?
No problem, you can request boxes back individually whenever you like.
HOW QUICKLY CAN I HAVE MY BOXES BACK?
As long as you get your order in before 3pm Monday to Friday, then they can be with you the very next day. If you would like your boxes returned on a Monday, please request this by 3pm on Friday. Saturday deliveries are available at a slightly higher cost depending on the service requested.
CAN I HAVE A LIST OF THE ITEMS I HAVE IN STORAGE WITH YOU?
Yes. If you’re unsure what you have inside each box or which box ID matches to which content, our warehouse team is happy to help by auditing your order. The standard fee for order audits, box checks, or inventories is a flat fee of €10 for up to 15 boxes, after which there is an additional charge of €2 for each box. WHERE DO YOU STORE MY STUFF?
Your items will be kept safe and monitored 24/7 by CCTV in our one of our storage facilities in Ireland. We collect and deliver as soon as the next working day to and from any Irish address. We always come to you, so you’ll never have to rent a van or book a “man and a van” to lug your things to and from a storage unit!
WILL YOU OPEN MY BOXES?
We want your belongings to be safe just as much as you do, and keeping them sealed is part of that plan. We may need to open a box if we believe that there’s a risk of damage to your things, of injury to one of our team, or if we suspect the items stored are in breach of our Terms and Conditions. We may also open an item to repackage it if there is excess weight or inappropriate packing, or if you use your own boxes and they come apart in transit.
DO YOU OFFER INSURANCE ON MY ITEMS?
We do indeed. Every box is covered for up to €100 both in transit and also in our warehouse provided it is properly and securely packaged. We currently do not insure fragile items – glassware, crockery, TVs, printers, etc. If you are storing fragile items, please make sure they are thoroughly bubble wrapped (multiple layers) and carefully packed to ensure they are safe during transport.
